Classification of ADR loads

Transport ADR (from the French L’Accord européen relatif au transport international des marchandises Dangereuses par Route), or European Agreement concerning the international carriage of dangerous goods by road. All parties to the contract can be consulted on the website of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. ADR is a comprehensive legal act that normalizes regulations in the countries of the European Union. The first document was signed in 1957 in Geneva. Poland signed it in 1975. The legal act of ADR is amended from time to time and new articles are added to it. The revision in 2019 contains two volumes, one has over 300 and the other has over 400 pages. It contains all the rules that should be followed by people involved in ADR transport.
Division of ADR
The main division of dangerous goods is 13 different classes. Each load, which is included in this list, must be marked and transported under the required conditions.

Documents that are needed to transport ADR
The vehicle that transports dangerous goods should also have warning signs and stickers. The cargo must have documents certifying its origin and instructions for its transportation. Dangerous goods must be reported so that in case of any accident the service knows how to respond to crises.
Drivers driving vehicles with ADR loads must have special rights. The training ensures that the driver knows how to handle the load. Thanks to this, it can guarantee security for itself and for the environment. The vehicle for which the loads are transported must have up-to-date technical tests. It should also be equipped with the necessary equipment and emergency equipment.
